BEER AND WINE TRADITION
BEER TRADITION
There is a long tradition of brewing in Czech lands. In 13th century only few towns owned right to brew the beer. Thanks to its long tradition, currently the Czech beer belongs within the best world beers. It differs by its full taste and higher bitterness.
Apart from huge breweries (Pilsner Urquell, Budwar, Staropramen) there are cca 50 small local breweries with its special charm and brands. Many breweries offer inspection tour through its plant including beer tasting. It can be easily combined with traditional Czech lunch (pork, dumplings and cabbage).
There are also several beer museums showing its history, different technologies, etc. The biggest beer museum can be found in Pilsen, where it is part of Pilsner Urquell inspection tour. Some breweries arrange beer celebrations on occasion of their first brew

WINE TRADITION
As Bohemia is well know for its beer, Moravia offers long tradition in wine production. The most popular are wine cellars in South Moravia where you can enjoy wine tasting together with folklore performances in traditional local garbs. Visit to Moravian wine can be easily combined with visit to Lednice-Valtice area, UNESCO listed complex of chateux.
For half-day trip from Prague, we suggest visit to Melnik chateau with wine tasting in chateau wine cellars.
Please send us your request and we will contact you back as soon as possible with a proposal.
