Estates Theatre

The Theatre of the Estates (Stavovské divadlo) was opened in 1783 and it is considered as one of the most beautiful historic theatres in Europe. The theatre is forever linked with the name of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. For it was the scene of the world premieres of two of his operas: the famous "Don Giovanni" - which Mozart himself conducted.
Laterna Magika

History of the Laterna Magika began in 1958 at the world exhibition EXPO 58 in Brussels, Belgium. The program showed in the Czechoslovak pavilion was named Laterna magika and later gave its name to the theatre in Prague. The theatre travelled with these performances through the world (EXPO 67 in Montreal, Canada and as well as on the EXPO 70 in Osaka, Japan). The programme does not use the words, only the combination of film projection and life stage media's - dance, sound, lights, pantomime, black-theatre etc.
National Marionette Theatre
Zatecka 1, Praha 1
National Marionette Theatre presents a brilliant opera Don Giovanni composed by Mozart especially for Prague in a unique version of classical marionettes. The production celebrates Mozart's time and the atmosphere of this era in a form of authentic 18th century spectacle. Using tall marionettes, stylish period costumes and original stage effects. The performance is presented in original Italian libretto and lasts about two hours.
National Theatre

The National Theatre in Prague is one of the Czech cultural institutions with a rich artistic tradition that was created and kept alive by foremost personalities of the Czech cultural life. This tradition helped to preserve and maintain what is most significant: the Czech language as well as Czech theatrical and musical sensibility and thinking. The National Theatre's eminence is shaped today by its three artistic ensembles - opera, ballet and drama.
