Crakow

The former capital of Poland (from the 11th - 17th century) lies in the southern part of Poland on the Vistula River. There is a multitude of architectural monuments supplemented by approximately 2.5 million artefacts collected and displayed in museums, churches and archives. The main tourist attractions in Crakow are the Wawel Hill with the residential royal castle, the Jewish Kazimierz district, world-wide unique underground corridors of the Wieliczka salt mine and the Market Square, the second largest in Europe after St. Marks Square in Venice.
